Cyanotypes  —  Alternative Photography

Self-Initiated Work, January 2017

This series poetically recycles ephemera into photographs, demonstrating my appreciation of ephemera and my desire to extend its temporality. The ephemera was collected in my travels across Japan. I printed cyanotypes over the pieces to renew their purpose. Cyanotypes are a historically used photography process involving the application of chemicals to a material before its exposure in sunlight underneath a negative image printed on acetate.

This series consists of an album cover for Daughter’s album ‘If You Leave’ and a calendar inspired by the album.
